Every flower planted is an investment in our planet, our communities, and the meals on our tables.
Every flower counts
Pollinators are essential to our food system, helping over one-third of the crops we eat to grow and thrive.
Without them, fruits, vegetables, and nuts would be far less abundant, and our ecosystems would struggle to maintain balance.
By creating pollinator-friendly gardens, we provide vital habitats, support biodiversity, and help ensure a healthy, sustainable food system for the future.
Plant flowers. Protect our food. Grow a healthier future.
Our Story
Pretty Mindful Gardens is a woman- and minority-owned garden consulting and design practice based in Tampa, Florida, rooted in sustainability, mindfulness, and community care.
This work is grounded in the belief that growing food is more than a practice—it is a way of reconnecting to the earth, to our health, and to each other.
For many, that reconnection also becomes a return to something deeper: memory, lineage, and ancestral wisdom carried through generations.
We support individuals, families, and organizations in growing organic food, medicinal herbs, and native plants—right where they live, learn, and gather.
At its heart, this work is about accessibility and care, with a commitment to helping underserved communities reclaim their relationship with food and land.
Through thoughtful design, hands-on guidance, and education, we help people rebuild confidence in growing, strengthen their well-being, and cultivate a deeper relationship with nature.
Every garden becomes an invitation to slow down, grow with intention, and reconnect with the earth, and with what has always been quietly passed down to us.
“Let’s grow something meaningful, together.”

Meet the Founder
Dixie Espinosa is a Tampa-based garden consultant and educator whose work is rooted in the belief that growing food is a way of remembering who we are.
As a Dominican-American, her earliest connection to the land came through her grandmother’s humble home garden—where food was grown with devotion, patience, and deep care. In that space, gardening was not a hobby, but a way of life passed quietly through generations.
Her own journey into growing food became a return—an act of reconnecting with her grandmother, her ancestors, and the cultural wisdom carried through the land itself.
Today, that lineage lives on in her work. Through each garden she helps create, she invites others into their own relationship with the earth—where growing food becomes an act of memory, healing, and connection.
Through her guidance, gardens become spaces of confidence, care, and belonging.
Every seed matters
With every seed planted, you’re caring for yourself, your family, and the world around you.
Kitchen gardens, also known as raised bed gardens, make growing food easier, healthier, and more sustainable while connecting people to nature.
At Pretty Mindful Gardens, each garden is a small act of change that helps build a healthier, more resilient community.
Plant seeds. Make food accessible. Support food security.
“He who plants a garden, plants happiness.”
